A Strawberry Frame Of Mind

I have been up to my elbows this week with strawberry goodness! Strawberry shortcake, strawberry jam, strawberries on ice cream, strawberry slushies...well, you get the picture.

Ladies, you must try the freezer jam recipe on the box of the Sure Jell. It is so easy and if you have some some extra space in your freezer it is so worth it!

Hello Peggy,
I have had freezer jam in cakes and scones, but I wondered if it is suitable for cooking with. How does it react to heat?

I have started my first Preserving Notebook, and so far I have bottled 7x1 litre jars of rhubarb and dried about 200g lovage. Gill.

Oh, I would think it would be fine for using in baked things. You could try and see.

I'm salivating looking at those berries! Our local ones won't be ready for another 2-3 weeks.......

Me thinks I will buy a flat of strawberries at the farmer's market this Thursday! :) My wee plants will not produce the fruit that will be needed for this! LOL!

I've got 12 jars of strawberry preserves and 14 of strawberry jam (I think I may enter our county fair with one of those).
Our cherry tree finally produced some pie cherries this year...have you ever put up cherry pie filling?
